St. John’s McNicoll Vintage Garden Community (SJMC), located in Scarborough Ontario, is a prime example of reclaiming water for Cooling Towers. Phase II of SJMC’s 14 story 177 unit condominium project was designed to be a “third life lease senior apartment.” With the majority of occupants being in their senior years, the demand for air conditioning is large. Greyter’s cooling tower solution offers an affordable and low-maintenance solution where stormwater could be collected, treated and used to offset the volume of potable water sent to the building’s cooling tower.

“We are proud that SJMC included water-efficient solutions like Greyter’s,” said Mark Sales, co-Founder and CEO of Greyter Water Systems. “When planned correctly, facilities can substantially reduce water costs when supplementing fresh water with reclaimed water for use in cooling towers,” he continued.Greyter’s Cooling Tower Solution is also highly adaptable in revised planning and retrofit projects. SJMC was designed by CXT Architects. Project Engineers are MV Shore Engineering Consultants and a number of subcontractors contributed to the construction of the project including Lisi Mechanical.
