Greyter Water Systems Receives Patent From U.S. Patent Office for The Greyter HOME™

Greyter Water Systems Inc., provider of the Greyter HOME™, a residential water recycling solution, is pleased to announce that its application for patent filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in 2018 has been examined and allowed for issuance as a patent.

The company’s Greyter HOME solution is an award winning, low maintenance, compact, reliable, automated, and NSF 350 certified water recycling system that can help reduce indoor water consumption by as much as 25 percent in a family home. The system captures water from showers and bathtubs, treats it to a near-potable quality and provides clear, odor-free water capable of meeting a home’s toilet flushing demands.

Greyter’s newly patented invention, titled “intake filter for water collection system with pressure activated backwash valve” is a critical part of the Greyter HOME solution. This self cleaning filter safely and effectively remediates large solids and organics before they enter the system. The allowance of this patent further confirms Greyter’s position in the residential water reuse space.

The Greyter HOME has been making its way into homes across the U.S, and Canada, as many builders and municipalities recognize the benefits of residential water recycling as a way to help conserve regional water supplies and create water-efficient communities, especially in areas where growth is constrained by limited water resources. In late 2019, Greyter teamed up with Lennar (a leading US home construction company) and Tucson Water to pilot the Greyter HOME solution within two communities in Tucson, Arizona. Most recently, it teamed up with Denver Water, the Colorado Water Conservation Board and Lennar and began including the solution within a development of 40 homes in Denver, Colorado.
