The Township Of Red Rock Selects Greyter Water Systems’ Smart Water Solution
The Township of Red Rock, near Thunder Bay Ontario, selects Greyter Systems’ smart water solution to reduce the water consumed at its marina. With the Greyter System commissioned on July 4th, Red Rock Marina is now capturing water from hand sinks and showers (greywater) so that it can be reused for toilet flushing.
Greywater recycling is one of the many sustainable technologies incorporated into the new building, which will see close to 100 daily visitors. The current phase of the Marina is the Timber-Frame Straw bale Building which offers boaters bathrooms, showers and laundry facilities. There were a few reasons driving the Corporation of the Township of Red Rock’s decision to purchase a Greyter System for their new Red Rock Marina and Interpretive Centre. “Ultimately, saving water by recycling it fit in perfectly with the marina centre’s eco-friendly concepts and technologies,” said Gerald Sarassin, Manager, Red Rock Marina Development Project. “We were delighted that Greyter’s water management solution was selected by the Township to reduce the Marina’s consumption of water,” said Chris Thompson, Greyter’s Chief Technology Officer. With Greyter’s water management technology, it is anticipated that the marina will reduce water use by 75,000 liters each year.
