U.S. Air Force – Cannon Communications Facility

Water Conservation for Mission-Critical Operations

US air force plane

Project Overview

As part of the U.S. Military’s Net Zero program, the U.S. Air Force is committed to reducing potable water consumption and improving water resource management. This initiative aligns with the Department of Defense Sustainability Performance Plan, which aims to cut potable water use by 26% and industrial/irrigation water use by 20% from baseline levels.

To support these goals, Greyter Water Systems was selected to implement a water reuse solution at the 42,000-square-foot Cannon Communications Facility in Clovis, New Mexico.

Impact & Results

By integrating Greyter’s graywater reuse technology, the U.S. Air Force at Cannon Communications Facility demonstrates how military operations can implement effective water conservation strategies to enhance resilience, lower costs, and reduce environmental impact.

Reduced potable water demand, cutting facility water consumption in line with DoD goals
Repurposed shower water, eliminating waste while ensuring irrigation needs are met
Sustainable infrastructure, supporting long-term water efficiency in a high-use military site
