Greyter’s John Bell will Speak at World Water-Tech North America

October 7, 2015 @ 2:15 pm - 3:00 pm

John will be part of a panel that will discuss the topic of “Building Resilience with Decentralised Wastewater Treatment Plants”. The following is a summary of what will be discussed:

  • The rise of the city ecodistrict: how can bespoke solutions work for a highly varied WWT landscape?
  • Creating a flexible system: How can utilities create systems that respond to storms and drought? How can utilities manage water supply and WWT in remote communities alongside urban environments? How can cities respond to emergencies proactively?
  • What are the keys to success with decentralised/distributed systems? What are the challenges? What are the financial benefits to a municipality / utility?
  • In what ecosystem does a decentralised WWT plant work best?
  • What are the different management models of these treatment plants?
  • Are decentralised systems the way forward in cities becoming water neutral or water positive? How can these solutions be scaled to become a real solution?
  • How can risk be managed and shared in decentralised systems?
  • How can the combined use of decentralised and centralised systems together achieve scale and cater for disasters?
  • How can a regulatory framework help move things forward?
